Summit

Pepper Mountain

Oregon

About

Pepper Mountain is a summit of 2,155 feet in Oregon's Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, about 9 miles from the town of Washougal, Washington, across the river. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs in the upper 70s with only five or six wet days a month, while winter months see highs in the mid-40s and rain on most days. That station sits well below the summit, so temperatures up top run cooler. The Pepper Mountain Trail starts just 0.4 miles away, and the Wizard Trail North and Dark Larch Wizard Trail are both within a mile. Gordon Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 3 miles off.
