The Zen Spot is a climbing area in Oregon, about 3.7 miles from the town of Callahan. It sits among a cluster of other climbing areas, including Fantasy Island, Tower of Doom and The Callahans, all within a mile. The routes here range from 5.7 to 5.11a, with sport and top-rope styles and one trad route, Shark Spike. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 84°F with only about three wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-40s and rain on 17 or more days. That station sits roughly 1,600 feet lower than the area, so temperatures at the crag run cooler. The routes include Beyond Child's Play (5.7 top rope) and Changing of the Guard (5.7 sport), both first ascended by the Orton's and Harold Hall in 1999. Shark Breath (5.11a sport) is the hardest route.
