Double Chocolate is a climbing area in Oregon, about 4 miles from the town of Callahan. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Singer Slab, Turtle Rock and Troll's Throne all about 0.1 mile away. The area is known for its sport and trad routes, which range from 5.6 to 5.11a/b. The most comfortable months for climbing are typically June through September. A nearby weather station records typical averages of 75°F highs in June and 78°F in September, with only three or five wet days a month in July and August. That station sits about 1,400 feet lower than the area, so temperatures here run cooler. The routes at Double Chocolate were developed by climbers including Harold Hall and Greg Orton, who first ascended several of them in 1996. Among the sport routes are Gold Finger at 5.6 and Atomic Cafe at 5.10a, and the Steve Miller Route at 5.11a/b is the hardest. The Callahans Climbing Trail is about 0.4 mile away for a walk before or after climbing.
