Troll's Throne is a climbing area in Oregon, about 4 miles from the town of Callahan. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Schoolhouse Rocks, the Twisted Sister Formation and Double Chocolate all within about a tenth of a mile. The area is known for its sport climbing, with a few trad routes mixed in. The climbing here runs from about 5.7+ up to 5.11b, with sport routes making up the bulk of the options. Elf Magic is a 5.7+ sport route, and Orc's Prow is a 5.10b/c. Nuts & Bolts is the only trad route, a 5.9 first ascended by Lee Baker in 2004. Summer is the driest stretch. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Riddle show July and August highs around 88 to 89°F with only about two wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the low 50s and rain on most days. That station sits well below the area, so temperatures at Troll's Throne run cooler. Callahans Climbing Trail is about half a mile away. Paddlers can find Morgan Creek about 4 miles off and the Williams River about 6 miles away.
