The Callahans is a climbing area in Oregon, about 3.4 miles from the town of Callahan. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Tower of Doom, Twisted Sister Formation and Schoolhouse Rocks all about 0.4 miles away. The Callahans Climbing Trail lies roughly 0.9 miles off, and the area is close enough to the town that it makes an easy base for a day of climbing. The climbing here is a mix of styles, with sport routes making up the bulk of the 56 routes listed. The YDS grades run from 5.5 to 5.11, and the sport routes include Wall Street at 5.7 and Night Rider at 5.10a/b. Trad climbers can try One Time Chimney at 5.5, and the top rope route Tragic Rock is at 5.8. The bouldering is minimal, with two routes graded V0 to V3+. Summer is the driest and warmest stretch. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 84°F with only about three wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-40s and rain on 17 or more days. That station sits well below the area, so temperatures at the crag run cooler.
