Rover is an easy hike of about 1.2 miles in the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. The route is an out-and-back with a total elevation gain of about 10 feet, so it's a short walk with almost no climb. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sedona show April highs around 75°F and October highs around 79°F, while July averages reach about 97°F. The trail is open to both bikes and horses. Axis, another hike, starts about 0.3 miles away, and the Ground Control and Rupp mountain biking trails are each about 0.4 miles off. Climbers can find the Bear Mountain Area about 1.9 miles away.
