Rupp #204 is an easy out-and-back hike in the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, about 2.3 miles long with a total elevation gain of 195 feet. The trail runs from a low point of about 4,319 feet to a high of about 4,534 feet, and it is managed by the Forest Service. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sedona show October highs around 79°F with lows near 51°F, and April highs around 75°F. Summer highs there climb into the mid-90s. The route is open to both horses and bikes, so it works for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. The Rupp mountain biking area is about 0.3 miles away, and Arizona Cypress #203 and Anaconda are both within half a mile. Climbers can find the Lizardhead Area about 1.4 miles off.
