Bear Mountain Area is a climbing area in the Red Rock-Secret Mountain Wilderness, part of the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits within designated wilderness. The climbing here is all trad, with four routes ranging from 5.7 to 5.11. Turtle Dome is the easiest at 5.7, and Be Bear Aware is the hardest at 5.11. The routes are close together, with Bear Mountain just 0.3 miles away and Lookout Tower 0.9 miles off. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Oak Creek Canyon weather station show May highs around 78°F and October highs around 74°F, while July and August average about 90°F. Bear Mountain #54 and Doe Mountain are both hikes about 0.6 miles away, and the Fay Canyon mountain biking trail is 0.7 miles off. For an overnight stay, Crescent Moon Ramada is about 6 miles away.
