Outer Limits is a 12.15-mile out-and-back hike in the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, about 4.8 miles from Sedona. The trail rises from about 4,100 feet to about 4,600 feet, with a total elevation gain of 415 feet, and is managed by the Forest Service. The most comfortable months are spring and fall. Typical averages from a nearby Sedona weather station show April highs around 75°F and October highs near 79°F, while July averages a high of 97°F and January lows drop to about 34°F. The trail starts at the HERKENHAM/SCHUERMAN MTN parking area, and Roundabout and Centennial #653 are both about 0.1 mile away. West Sedona, a climbing area, is roughly 1.7 miles off, and Crescent Moon Ramada offers camping about 2.3 miles away.
