K. The Slime Wall is a climbing area on the Mohonk Preserve in New York, a non-governmental landholding. It sits close to several other climbing areas, including l. Sleepy Hollow, j. The Yellow Wall and The Seasons and the Boxcar Area, all within about a tenth of a mile. The preserve has plenty of climbing to choose from. The wall holds 30 routes, with the majority of them in traditional style. Grades run from 5.3 up to 5.12-, with a median of 5.10. Among the routes are The Blue Stink, a 5.3 first ascended in 1947, and Falled on Account of Strain at 5.10b. The hardest is Wet Dream, a 5.12-. Late spring through early fall is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from the Mohonk Lake weather station, about 1.7 miles away, show highs of 71°F in May and 73°F in September, with July peaking near 83°F. Winter brings highs in the mid-30s and snow on several days a month from December through February.
