Andrew Area is a bouldering area within Mohonk Preserve in New York, managed by a non-governmental organization. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Herman Boulder, Trapps Bouldering and h. The Arrow Wall - CCK all about 0.1 mile away. The area is a bouldering destination, with 12 routes on the V scale, ranging from V1 to V10-11. The median grade is V5, and the hardest is Crouching Dragon at V10-11. Andrew's Reach is a V5, and Pure Joy is a V2-3 with a first reported ascent by Serge Levin in 2013. For timing, late spring through early fall is the most comfortable stretch. Typical averages from the nearby Mohonk Lake weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 73°F, with July peaking near 83°F. Winter brings regular snow days, with January highs around 34°F. Hikers can pair a session with the Old Minnewaska Trail, about 0.8 mile away, or the Millbrook Ridge Trail at about 0.9 mile.
