Lake Shore Road is a short, easy hike in New York, about half a mile from the village of Mohonk Lake. The route is a point-to-point walk of roughly 0.47 miles, with a low point of 1,248 feet and a high of 1,290 feet. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 5% grade near the start, and the total elevation gain is 32 feet. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring through early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Mohonk Lake show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 73°F, with July the warmest at about 83°F. Winter brings frequent snow days, with January highs near 34°F. Bikes are not allowed on this route. The Sky Top climbing area sits just 0.1 mile away, and Skytop Road and The Labyrinth are both within half a mile. Stokes Trail is about 0.8 mile off.
