The Lair is a sport climbing area in the Flagstaff Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with The Hive and Tiny Town each about 0.1 mile away. The area has seven sport routes, all rated between 5.12- and 5.13- on the YDS scale. The easiest are Crime Streak and The Chalice of Malice at 5.12-, and the hardest is A Rebel Just For Kicks at 5.13-. All the routes were first ascended by Evan Mathews. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Ft Valley, which sits about 700 feet lower than the Lair, show May highs around 71°F and October highs around 66°F, while July and August bring the most wet days of the year. The Pipeline and Forces of Nature mountain biking trails are each about half a mile away. Little Elden Springs Horsecamp is about 2.8 miles off, and Lockett Meadow Campground is about 8.6 miles away.
