The Porcini area is a climbing destination in Arizona's Coconino National Forest, within the Flagstaff Ranger District, where the Forest Service manages the land. The area sits among several other climbing spots, with Lower Middle Elden Canyon and The Chute Area each about a tenth of a mile away, making it easy to pair with those destinations in one visit. The Porcini area offers 11 routes, with eight trad and three sport climbs, and the grades run from 5.9+ up to 5.12+. Among the standouts are the trad route Wormhole at 5.10a and the sport route Porcini at 5.12+. The newest additions to the area, including Wormhole and Drei Yucka, were first ascended in 2021. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to climb here. Typical averages from the nearby Ft Valley weather station show May highs around 71°F and October highs around 66°F, while July and August bring the most wet days. Beyond climbing, the Pipeline mountain biking trail is about 0.2 miles away and the Forces of Nature trail about 0.4 miles. Little Elden Springs Horsecamp is about 3 miles off, and Lockett Meadow Campground is roughly 9 miles away.
