Horn Gap is a hard out-and-back hike in the Siskiyou Mountains Ranger District of Oregon's Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests. It stretches about 14.4 miles, with a total climb of about 7,508 feet, and the trail begins and ends near 6,638 feet. The high point on the route reaches about 6,948 feet, and the steepest section comes in at about 51% grade roughly 1.7 miles from the start. The trail is open year-round, and the estimated time for the round trip is about 8.5 hours. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is natural-surfaced. Horses and bikes are allowed, and the trail is not accessible. Several other outings sit close by. Wagner Glade is about 0.1 mile away, and Old Man Trail is about 1.3 miles off. Mt. Ashland Campground is about 3.7 miles away, and the Little Applegate River offers canoeing about 4.5 miles from the trail.
