Wagner Butte is a hard hike in Oregon's Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests, within the Siskiyou Mountains Ranger District. The trail is 10.4 miles long and has a total elevation gain of 2,892 feet. It rises from a starting point of about 5,000 feet to a high point of 7,102 feet, making it a front-loaded climb with the steepest stretch near the start. Horses and bikes are allowed on the natural-surface trail, which is not accessible. The trip is estimated to take about five hours. The Forest Service lists its open season as June through October. The Barrel Ride Trail and Old Man Trail both start about 0.3 miles away, and the Stump Jump Trail is about half a mile off. Farther afield, the Little Applegate River offers canoeing about 2.9 miles away.
