Ben's is a 6-mile out-and-back hike in the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District of Deschutes National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail starts at about 4,160 feet and reaches a high point of about 4,500 feet, with a total climb of about 527 feet and a steepest stretch of about 6% at around 2.3 miles. The route is rated hard, and the surface is natural. Bikes are allowed, but horses are not. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June and September, when typical averages from the nearby Sunriver weather station run from highs of about 72°F and lows of 37°F in June to highs of about 76°F and lows of 34°F in September. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the route run a little cooler. Nearby, the Mtb hike is less than a mile away, and the Skyliners Road climbing area is about 0.9 miles off. Phil's Shevlin Park and the Deschutes River, about 3.6 miles away, round out the options.
