Kent's is a hard hike of about 9 miles in the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District of Deschutes National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back with a total climb of about 1,293 feet, from a low point of about 3,885 feet to a high of about 4,420 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 1.8 miles in, with a grade of about 9 percent. Bikes are allowed on the natural-surface trail, but horses are not. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Sunriver weather station run from highs around 72°F in June to about 84°F in July, with July lows near 41°F. Winter is cold, with January highs around 40°F and lows near 20°F. The Voodoo and Voodoo Child hikes start about 0.7 miles away, and the Whoops and Pinedrops hikes are about 1.2 miles off. Climbers can find Widgi Creek about 1.6 miles away.
