Irondyke Forest Camp is a Forest Service campground in the Eagle Cap Ranger District of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest in northeastern Oregon. It sits within the forest's recreation network, and the nearest town is Joseph, about 9 miles away. Vault toilets are the only facility listed for the site, and a fee is charged for stays. The camp makes a practical base for exploring the surrounding trails and waterways, with Francis Lake Trail just 0.3 miles away and the Lostine River about a mile off. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Joseph weather station show July and August highs around 79 to 80°F with only five or six wet days a month, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. Other nearby options include Lostine Corridor Campground at 1.1 miles and Walla Walla Forest Camp at 1.4 miles. Paddlers can head to the Lostine River, and climbers will find the Wallowa Mountains about 4.7 miles away.
