Hurricane Creek Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Eagle Cap Ranger District of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest in northeastern Oregon. It sits within the forest's recreation network, and the nearest town is Joseph, about 3.6 miles away. The site is a simple base for exploring the surrounding area. Amenities include vault toilets, and a fee is charged for stays. The campground works well as a starting point for hiking, paddling and climbing in the Wallowa Mountains. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Joseph weather station show July and August highs around 79 to 80°F with only five or six wet days a month, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. Two hikes start within about 2 miles: the Dug Peak Bootpath and the Hurricane Creek Trail. The Wallowa River, about 3.7 miles away, offers canoeing, and the Lostine Corridor Campground is about 5.3 miles off.
