Herman Boulder is a bouldering area within the Mohonk Preserve in New York, managed by a non-governmental organization. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Trapps Bouldering, the Andrew Area and h. The Arrow Wall - CCK all about 0.1 mile away. The boulders here range from V0 to V9, so climbers of all levels will find something to work on. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. At the Mohonk Lake weather station, about 2 miles away, typical July highs reach about 83°F with lows near 64°F, and September cools to typical highs around 73°F. Winters are cold and snowy, with typical January highs near 34°F. The routes at Herman Boulder run the full gamut of bouldering grades. The Herman boulder is the easiest at V0, while Death Star is V4-5 and Fly Like an Ego is V9. Harvest Moon and Blood Moon, both V2, were first climbed by Joe Duignan. The Old Minnewaska Trail and Millbrook Ridge Trail both lie within a mile, and King's Lane is about 1.2 miles away, so it's easy to pair a bouldering session with a walk.
