Erebus South Slope Trail is a 0.8-mile point-to-point hike in the Lake George Wild Forest in New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. The trail rises from about 1,911 feet to about 2,080 feet, with a total gain of 222 feet and a steepest stretch of about 15% at roughly 0.5 miles in. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June and September. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Glens Falls Farm show June highs around 79°F and September highs around 74°F, though that station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the slope run cooler. The trail is rated hard. Dogs, bikes and horses are all allowed, and it is not wheelchair accessible. Erebus Mountain Trail lies about 0.9 miles away, and Red Rock Bay to Ridge Trail and West Fishbrook Pond Trail are each about 1.1 miles off. Climbers can find Sleeping Beauty Mountain about 1.3 miles away.
