Sleeping Beauty Mountain is a climbing area in the Lake George Wild Forest in New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It sits within the wild forest's network of trails, with the Sleeping Beauty Trail passing just 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is traditional, with 10 routes spread across a range from 5.6 to 5.11c. The most straightforward is Sizzle Me at 5.6, and the hardest is Good and Plenty at 5.11c. The sport route is the only one of its style, and the rest are all trad. The routes are named with their grades and first ascents, including Sizzle Me by Tom DuBois and Steve Alder and Good and Plenty by Craig Vollkommer and Jessica Donovan. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Glens Falls run to highs around 84°F in July, though that station sits well below the mountain, so temperatures up high run cooler. Winter is cold, with January highs near 31°F. Other climbing areas within a few miles include Ark Wall at 2.3 miles and Carhartt Wall at 2.7 miles. The Shortway Trail and the Erebus South Slope Trail are both within about a mile and a half.
