4th Boulder is a hard hike in the East Humboldts Wilderness, part of the Mountain City-Ruby Mountains-Jarbidge Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in northeastern Nevada. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is a natural-surface out-and-back that climbs about 2,027 feet over 7.2 miles, from a low of about 7,376 feet to a high of about 9,399 feet. The route is rated hard, and it is not open to bikes. Horses are allowed. The trail is in designated wilderness, so plan for a backcountry experience. The 3rd Boulder hike lies about 0.8 miles away, and the Alles Creek and 2nd Boulder hikes are each within about 2.6 miles. Angel Lake Campground and Angel Lake, about 7.2 miles off, offer camping and fishing.
