Du Hein is a 3-mile out-and-back hike in the Glacier View Ranger District of Flathead National Forest in northwest Montana, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises about 136 feet from a low point of 3,315 feet to a high of 3,447 feet, and it is rated moderate. The route is natural-surfaced and allows bikes, so it works for hikers and riders alike. The most comfortable stretch for a visit runs from June through September, when typical averages from the nearby Polebridge weather station reach highs around 81 to 82°F in July and August, with lows near 40°F. Winter is cold, with January highs around 31°F and lows near 10°F. The trail sits about 0.3 miles from Big Creek Campground, and the Gv Mtn Spur and Glacier View Mtn. hikes are within about 1.5 miles. Paddlers can find Big Creek about 5 miles away.
