Saddle Up is an easy out-and-back hike of about 2.4 miles in the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises about 160 feet from a low point of 4,354 feet to a high of 4,532 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sedona show April highs around 75°F and October highs around 79°F, while July averages climb to about 97°F. The Stirrup and Lasso mountain biking trails start within a quarter mile, and the Hillside Shared Use Path is about 0.3 miles away. For climbing, West Sedona is about 1.3 miles off.
