Remnant is an easy out-and-back hike of about 1.4 miles in the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises about 67 feet from a low point of 4,345 feet to a high of 4,423 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sedona show April highs around 75°F and October highs around 79°F, while July averages climb to about 97°F. The trail sits right beside the Sugarloaf Trailhead, with the Bottom Out and Roundabout mountain biking routes about 0.1 mile away. Climbers can head to West Sedona, about 2 miles off, and Crescent Moon Ramada offers camping roughly 2.8 miles away.
