Centennial #653 is a short, easy hike in the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, about half a mile long and rated easy. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is an out-and-back that gains about 12 feet in elevation, from roughly 4,466 feet to 4,479 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sedona show April highs around 75°F and October highs around 79°F, while July averages climb to about 97°F. Bikes and horses are both allowed on this route, so it works for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. The trail sits close to several other outings.
