Ochoco Mountains

The Ochoco Mountains are a rugged and scenic mountain range located in central Oregon. Spanning across approximately 1,000 square miles, the range features a diverse landscape of forested slopes, alpine meadows, and rocky outcroppings. The terrain is characterized by steep, glaciated peaks, deep canyons, and high-altitude lakes and streams. The Ochocos are part of the Cascade Mountain Range and serve as an important ecological transition zone between the dry, desert-like climate of eastern Oregon and the wetter, more temperate regions to the west.
