Scotts Campground sits in the Paulina Ranger District of Ochoco National Forest in Oregon, about 10 miles from the town of Bridge Creek. It lies at the junction of Forest Service Road 22, Forest Service Road 3010 and Forest Service Road 2630, between Big Summit Prairie and the Bridge Creek Wilderness. The Forest Service manages the land. The site has vault toilets, and no fees are required to use it. That makes it a simple base for a day or longer in the surrounding forest, with easy access to the wilderness and the prairie on either side. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 80°F, while July and August average in the upper 80s. That station sits well below the campground, so temperatures here run cooler. Elliot Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 4 miles away, and Cold Springs Cabin - Ochoco NF (OR) is about 4.7 miles off. Keeton, a hike, is about 5.9 miles away, and Deep Creek campground is about 7.4 miles away.
