Tower is an easy out-and-back hike in Tennessee, about 0.4 miles from Collegedale. The trail covers roughly 0.88 miles, with a total climb of 287 feet up to a high point of 1,015 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.2 miles in, with a grade of 8%. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Chattanooga run to highs around 74°F in April and October, while July and August average about 90°F. Several other hikes start within about a quarter mile, including Copperhead and Mid Ridge. Goliath wall, a climbing area, is about half a mile away. Paddlers can reach Wolftever Creek, about 1.8 miles off.
