Forest Lane is a 1.5-mile loop hike in Tennessee, about 0.7 miles from the town of Collegedale. It's a moderate trail with a total elevation gain of 203 feet and a loss of 416 feet, so it's a balanced climb and descent rather than a steady ascent. The route has a steepest section of about 31% grade at the 0.64-mile mark, and the high point reaches 1,080 feet while the low point is at 864 feet. That makes it a short outing with some variation in elevation. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Chattanooga show October highs around 74°F and April highs around 74°F, with October and April also having the fewest wet days of the year.
