Mid Ridge is a moderate out-and-back hike in Tennessee, about half a mile from the town of Collegedale. The route is roughly 2.5 miles long, with a one-way climb of about 150 feet from a starting elevation of about 1,068 feet to a high point of about 1,109 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.75 miles in, with a grade of about 8 percent. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Chattanooga show October highs around 74°F with lows near 51°F, and April is similar. That station sits several hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the ridge run a little cooler. Several other hikes start right next door, including Copperhead and Krebs Cycle, each about 0.1 mile away, and Coyote at about 0.2 mile. Goliath wall, a climbing area, is about 0.8 mile off.
