Trillium Lake Loop is a 1.8-mile loop hike in the Zigzag Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is rated easy, with a total elevation gain of about 10 feet, and it is accessible. The loop runs between roughly 3,600 and 3,620 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 1.1 miles in, where the grade reaches 7%. The trail is natural-surfaced and is accessible, so it works well for a short outing or as a way to pair with time on the climbing or camping close by. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. Climbers will find Trillium Lake Crag (Mosquito Butte) and Section 2 about 0.1 mile away. Trillium Lake Campground and the Mud Creek Loop Nordic trail are each about 0.3 mile off.
