Section 2 is a climbing area in Oregon's Mt. Hood National Forest, within the Zigzag Ranger District. It sits on Forest Service land, and it lies about a tenth of a mile from Trillium Lake Crag (Mosquito Butte), Section 3 and the Trillium Lake Loop. The area has seven climbing routes, six of them sport routes and one a top-rope route. The grades range from 5.3 to 5.8. The top-rope route is Easy Slab 5.3, and the sport routes include Trillium Tube Steak 5.4 and Unnamed 5.8 Overhang 5.8. The Trillium Lake Loop is the closest hike, and the Trillium Lake Cg campground is about 0.4 miles away. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. At the Government Camp weather station, 1.7 miles away, July and August average highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month. Winter there averages highs in the mid-30s and wet days on more than 20 days a month.
