Summit is an easy, out-and-back hike in Oregon's Mt. Hood National Forest, within the Zigzag Ranger District. The trail is 3.2 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 314 feet, and it starts and ends at about 3,700 feet, rising to a high point of roughly 4,000 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Government Camp show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and rain on more than 20 days a month. The trail sits right beside Alpine Trail #660 and Crosstown Trail #755, both about 0.1 mile away. Still Creek campground is half a mile off, and Trillium campground is about 2.2 miles away.
