Terwilliger Hot Springs Trail is an easy hike of about 0.9 miles, with a total elevation gain of 239 feet, in the McKenzie River Ranger District of Oregon's Willamette National Forest. The trail is short and low, rising from about 1,680 feet to a high point of 1,792 feet, and is best suited to a quick outing rather than a long day on foot. It is managed by the Forest Service. Summer is the driest and warmest time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Cougar Dam weather station show July and August highs around 89°F with only about three wet days a month, while winter months see highs in the upper 40s and rain on most days. That station sits roughly 500 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. The hike takes about half an hour. Slide Creek campground is 0.6 miles away, and Walker Creek and Lowder Mountain Trail #3329 are both within about a mile and a half. Paddlers can head to the East Fork South Fork McKenzie River, about 4.6 miles off.
