Rebel Creek is a 3-mile out-and-back hike in the McKenzie River Ranger District of Oregon's Willamette National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail starts at Rebel Trailhead and climbs to a high point of 2,684 feet, with a total elevation gain of 938 feet over the round trip. The steepest stretch comes at about 1.2 miles in, where the grade reaches 17 percent. The route is rated moderate, and the trail surface is natural. Horses are allowed, so the hike works for riders as well as hikers. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the Cougar Dam weather station, about 9 miles away, show July and August highs near 89°F with only about three wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the upper 40s and rain on most days. The Rebel Rock Trail #3324 begins just 0.1 mile from the trailhead. Red Diamond Campground is 0.7 mile away, and French Pete is 2.7 miles off. Paddlers can head to French Pete Creek, about 3.4 miles away.
