Meadow is an easy, flat hike in Oregon's Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, managed by the Forest Service. The route is an out-and-back of about 2.7 miles, with no elevation gain, so it's a straightforward walk for anyone looking to spend time on foot without a climb. The trail is short and low, with the high point at about 35 feet and the low at about 25 feet. The steepest stretch comes early, around 0.26 miles in, with a grade of about 5 percent. That makes it an easy walk to fit into a longer day in the area. Summer is the warmest time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Troutdale run to highs around 81°F in July and August, while winter highs sit in the mid-40s. Several other hikes start right next to Meadow, including Confluence, Ranch Dike and Boundary, each about 0.1 mile away. Climbers can find the (1) North Face area about 0.4 mile off.
