1000 Acres Road is a short, easy out-and-back hike in Oregon's Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, managed by the Forest Service. The route is about a mile long, with a total elevation gain of 44 feet, and it makes a quick stop for anyone already exploring the surrounding trails. The trail starts at the Sandy River Delta Trailhead, and the trip takes about half an hour. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.44 miles, where the grade reaches 9 percent. The high point is 48 feet, and the low point is 29 feet, so the route is nearly flat from start to finish. Summer is the warmest time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Troutdale run to highs around 81°F in July and August, with lows near 56°F. Winter is much cooler, with January highs around 44°F. Several other trails sit right next to this one. Boundary and Ranch Dike are each about 0.1 mile away, and Confluence is about 0.2 mile away. Climbers can find the (1) North Face area about 0.3 mile off.
