Lake Branch Cascades Trail #618A is a short, easy out-and-back hike in Oregon's Mt. Hood National Forest, within the Hood River Ranger District. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and covers about 0.68 miles, with a total elevation gain of 21 feet. The route starts and ends at roughly 3,121 feet, with the high point at about 3,152 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station show July and August highs around 69 to 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on 20 or more days.
