Old Skyline is a 3.2-mile out-and-back hike in the Hood River Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is rated moderate, with a total climb of about 530 feet and a steepest stretch of about 16% at roughly 1.3 miles in. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. The Lakeshore and Lost Lake Vista hikes both start about 0.2 miles away. Lost Lake campground is about 1.3 miles off, and the West Fork Hood River offers canoeing about 2.1 miles away.
