Upper Washbowl Cliff is a climbing area in the Giant Mountain Wilderness of New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with The Creature Wall just 0.1 mile away and Tanager Face and the Lower Washbowl Cliffs each about 0.4 mile off. The Spider's Web is also within a short distance. The area has 11 routes, 10 of which are trad and one is sport. Grades run from 5.6 up to 5.12c, with the Wiessner Route at 5.6 and Northern Revival at 5.12c. The Weekend Warrior is the sport route, a 5.10 first ascended by Patrick Purcell. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Lake Placid show July highs around 74°F with lows near 54°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. For a walk, the Nubble Trail is about 0.6 mile away and the Washbowl Trail about 0.7 mile.
