Upper Beer Wall is a climbing area in the High Peaks Wilderness of New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Beer Walls and Lower Beer Wall each about 0.1 mile away and Lower Washbowl Cliffs about 0.2 mile off. The Spider's Web is roughly 0.3 mile away. The area is a mix of trad and mixed routes, with 11 trad and 4 mixed climbs among its 15 routes. Grades run from 5.4 up to 5.12b, with the median around 5.10b. Some of the named routes include Seven Ounces at 5.7, Neutron Brew at 5.10b and Center Stage at 5.12b. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Lake Placid show July highs around 74°F with lows near 54°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. Hikers can pair a day on the rock with the Nubble Trail, about half a mile away, or the Washbowl Trail, about 0.6 mile off.
