Chapel Pond Pass is a climbing area in the Giant Mountain Wilderness of New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Chapel Pond Slab and Jewels and Gems each about 0.1 mile away and Tanager Face about 0.2 mile off. The Creature Wall is roughly 0.3 mile away. The area has 43 routes, with trad climbing the most common style. Grades run from 5.3 up to 5.13a, and sport climbing is also represented, including License to Drill at 5.13a. The bouldering here is on the lower end, with two V0 routes. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Lake Placid show July highs around 74°F with lows near 54°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. For a walk, the S. Burns Weston Trail is about 0.6 mile away and the Nubble Trail about a mile off.
