Tyrolean Downhill is a mountain biking route in Nevada's Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, managed by the Forest Service. The out-and-back route runs about 6 miles, with the high point at 8,332 feet and the low point at 6,912 feet. The climb is moderate, and the total elevation gain is about 2,956 feet, with roughly half of that gained on the way up and the rest on the way back. The route reaches its steepest point at about 2.4 miles, where the grade tops out at 20 percent. That section stands out for its steepness, so plan for that when timing your ride. The Tyrolian Downhill hike starts just 0.1 mile away, and Tyrol Ridge is about 0.2 mile off. Old Mount Rose Highway is a nearby cross-country skiing route at 0.2 mile. For an overnight stay, Mt. Rose Campground is about 2.4 miles away.
