Secret-Starr is a hard out-and-back hike in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, within the Mountain City-Ruby Mountains-Jarbidge Ranger District. The trail is about 48 miles long, with an elevation gain of 880 feet from a low point of 6,089 feet to a high of 8,463 feet. The route lies on natural surface, and horses are allowed. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail stays open year-round. Nearby, North Fork Herder sits about half a mile away, and GREYS CREEK and Ackler Creek are each within about 3 miles. For an overnight base, Angel Lake Campground is about 3.4 miles off.
