Marysville Canyon is a 7-mile out-and-back hike in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, on the Austin-Tonopah Ranger District. The trail gains about 1,755 feet from its low point at 7,149 feet to a high of 8,188 feet, and it is rated hard. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is natural-surfaced, with horses and bikes allowed. The most comfortable months are typically June and September, when typical averages from the Austin #2 weather station, about 35 miles away, run near 76°F highs and 51°F lows in June and 75°F and 50°F in September. That station sits roughly 1,400 feet lower than the canyon's high point, so expect cooler temperatures on the summit. The hike is open year-round. Other trails within about 5 miles include Mohawk Canyon and Tierney Creek. San Juan Cua campground and the climbing area at The Wild Granites lie about 7 miles away.
