Lamoille-Gardner Creek TH is a hard hike in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, on the Mountain City-Ruby Mountains-Jarbidge Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is about 21 miles long, with a one-way gain of 1,571 feet from a low of about 6,300 feet to a high of about 7,770 feet. Horses are allowed, and the trail surface is natural. Bikes are not. The route is an out-and-back, so the full climb is round trip. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. A nearby weather station records typical July highs around 84°F with lows near 50°F. That station sits about 1,500 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures up top run cooler. The Lamoille-Talbot Trail and the Sport Wall climbing area both lie about a tenth of a mile away. Lamoille Canyon is about 1.7 miles off, and Thomas Canyon Campground is roughly 4.7 miles away.
