Lamoille Canyon is a climbing area in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, within the Mountain City-Ruby Mountains-Jarbidge Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the canyon sits among a cluster of trails and other climbing spots, making it a natural base for a day or longer in the area. The climbing here is alpine, with 15 routes spread across the canyon. The grades run from 5.6 up to 5.11a, with the median around 5.10a. Bumper Sheep is the easiest at 5.6, and Unknown Left is the hardest at 5.11a. The routes are all alpine in style, so plan for a technical approach rather than a straightforward climb. Several trails start close by. The Lamoille to Talbot hike is about a mile away, and the Lamoille-Talbot Trail is roughly 1.6 miles off. Thomas Canyon Campground, about 3 miles away, offers a place to stay. For more climbing, Sport Wall is about 1.8 miles from the canyon.
